Tereza Pařilová was born on March 24, 1985. At the Music School in Letovice she studied piano (with Jana Štrajtová) and flute (with Lucie Pelíšková).
At the age of 14 she began taking private harp lessons and later was admitted to a conservatory of music. She graduated from the conservatory
in June 2006 by giving a public concert with the string ensemble (cond. Stanislav Kummer), then she continued studying harp privately with
renowned harpist Kateřina Englichová. At the age of 15 she obtained a full scholarship at the prestigious private high school
Wyoming Seminary in Pennsylvania,
U. S. A.where she spent one year and where she also annually participated (as a stipendist) in summer music courses with Goulnara Mashourova, a principal harpist of the New York Philharmonics. In 2009 Tereza Pařilová obtained a bachelor of arts degree (BcA.) in a field of music management.
In summer 2006 and 2007 she participated in chamber music courses Ameropa in Prague (
Kateřina Englichová, Pavla Jahodová) and baroque harp courses in Amsterdam,
the Netherlands (Constance Allanic).
Tereza Pařilová has cooperated with orchestras home and abroad. With Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonics she has performed at the international music festival The Prague Spring (2009, cond. Jakub Hrůša) and on the world premiere of Zuzana Lapčíková music project Orbis Pictus at international music festival Smetanova Litomyšl (also 2009).
At the international harp competition U. F. A. M. in Paris in 2002 she obtained 4th prize in her category. As a Socrates/Erasmus stipend she spent winter semester
of 2007/2008 at the University of Leeds, Great Britain.
Tereza Parilova has performed also the world premiere of František Chaloupka´s composition An Ancient Caligraphy (Moravian Philharmony, Olomouc, cond. Martin Buchta), on the festival of contemporary music Krásy dneška together with Prague Chamber Philharmony she has performed another world premiere of the composer – Mount(never).rests (cond. Aleš Kománek).
For NAXOS she has recorded orchestral CDs, for Czech Radio (ČRo) has recorded also solo pieces.
In years 2008-2010 Tereza Parilova was a leading harpist of B
huslav Martinů Philharmonics in Zlin, the Czech Republic.
Actually, Tereza Parilová is studying at the Faculty of Informatics of the Masaryk University in Brno, major in Applied Informatics (Service Systems, Management and Execution) and is also a freelance musician.
